Hello! I'm Aki, a Japanese language teacher. I have completed the 420-hour Japanese Language Teacher Training Course approved by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of the Japanese government. I can teach Japanese in both Japanese and English. I have been teaching Japanese for over 16 years (as of 2024) through face-to-face lessons, Skype, and Zoom. My students are not only in Japan but also all over the world. Considering the time differences, We can find the good time through our time differences.
I was born and raised in Tokyo, so my Japanese pronunciation is standard. I can teach correct pronunciation with the standard "Tokyo accent" to people of all ages and genders. Currently, I am living in Tokyo, Japan, but I also have experience living abroad for several years.
Speaking of the materials used in my lessons include "GENKI," "Minna no Nihongo," and online texts. We can also study words and expressions from news and movies if you are interested. I can teach from beginner to advanced levels, including JLPT preparation. For those who want to focus on improving their speaking skills, I offer conversation-centered lessons. You can practice useful phrases for business situations, ordering in Japanese restaurants, living in Japan, and traveling in Japan.
My hobbies include yoga (I am a certified yoga and Pilates instructor), exercise, cooking, and watching movies. My students describe me as "fun, responsible, and patient."
